Fierce Fine Art:-LCM

I have always watched people; I ‘draw them with my eyes’.

My current body of work reflects this obsession and a long held interest in life cycles. For the past eight years I have recorded moments I have observed in the cycle of my own life and that of my children, tracing the emotions and relationships of my life and that of my family through pared down linear pencil images and constructed sculptures.

Originally a sculptor by training, my drawings reflect this heritage through the isolation of the key figure or figures within the frame. My concern is not with the portrait, rather in creating images that speak more widely of the human condition.

My work is frank and  at times brutally honest. I approach my practice from an unashamedly feminist and female perspective, frequently using my own body as an expressive medium to portray the overlooked perspective of women and children within the visual arts.
